Walkies keeps your data with Google Cloud, and card payments are handled by Stripe, so Walkies never stores full card numbers. Your business data is yours. Here's how it works.
How your data is kept safe
Google Cloud: Walkies runs on Google Cloud, through Google's Firebase platform. Your clients, pets, appointments and invoices are kept there, on the same infrastructure Google uses for its own products, like Gmail and Google Drive.
Encrypted: Google Cloud encrypts your data when it's stored and while it travels between your phone and Google's servers.
Certified: Google Cloud and Firebase are independently audited and certified to international security standards, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2. See Firebase's privacy and security page.
Signing in: you sign in with Apple, Google, or your email and password. If you think someone else has used your account, contact us straight away at support@personalwalkies.com.
Card payments
Powered by Stripe: Walkies Pay is powered by Stripe, the payment company trusted by millions of businesses around the world, from new startups to some of the biggest companies online. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the highest level of security certification in the card payments industry. See Stripe's security page.
Stripe handles cards: your clients type their card details into Stripe's own payment forms, in the Walkies Journal app and on invoice links. The card details go straight to Stripe. Walkies only keeps details like the card type and the last four digits.
Your payouts: Stripe checks your identity and bank account when you set up Walkies Pay. See How do I set up Walkies Pay?
Who can see what
Your team: team members only see the work they're assigned. They can't see your prices, invoices or client list. See What can team members see and do?
Your clients: clients connected to the Walkies Journal app see their own details, pets, appointments, reports and invoices.
Calendar links: if you turn on appointment syncing, anyone with your calendar link can see your appointments.
Your data is yours
Ownership: we don't claim ownership of what you add to Walkies. You give us a licence to use it to run Walkies, like showing your walk reports to your clients.
Pet photos: we sometimes share pet photos and videos from Walkies on our website and social media. If you'd rather we didn't use yours, email us at support@personalwalkies.com and we'll remove them.
Deleting your account: you can delete your account in the app, or email us at support@personalwalkies.com to close it. Once it's closed, you can't get back into it or the data in it. See How do I delete my Walkies account?
