How do I tell a client I'm on my way?

Tap the bell on an appointment card to send your client an "I'm on my way" message with your arrival time.

Let a client know you're heading over with the bell on their appointment card. They get an "I'm on my way" message with the time you should arrive, so they're not left wondering, even if you're running late.

Tell a client you're on your way

  1. Tap Appointments.

  2. In List view, tap the bell on the appointment's card.

  3. Tap You're on your way.

Notified client shows, and your client gets the message straight away.

In Day, Week or Month view, tap the appointment's card to show its options, then tap You're on your way.

What your client gets

  • A message saying I'm on my way 🚘. With the arrival time, it also says how long you'll be and when you should be with them, like "Anna should be with you by 3:45pm".

  • It goes by push notification in the Walkies Journal app, and by email, SMS or WhatsApp, depending on what's turned on for that client. Clients don't need the Journal app to get it.

  • SMS and WhatsApp need Walkies Pro.

  • It's sent once. It doesn't update as you travel, and your location isn't shared, only the arrival time.

The arrival time

  • It's on to start with. If the client has an address, the message includes how long you'll be and when you should arrive. Will send client your ETA shows under You're on your way when it will.

  • Walkies works it out from where you are when you tap it, to the client's address.

  • To send it without a time, turn off Share arrival time in Menu > Your app settings > ETA and directions.

  • Choose Driving or Walking on the same screen, under Travel mode.

  • With no address, or if Walkies can't get your location, it still sends, just without a time.

When the bell doesn't show

  • You've already sent it for this appointment. It can only be sent once.

  • The appointment has started.

  • It's Busy or Holiday time.
