Here's how to take money off an invoice, with one of your discounts or with a one-off discount, like a goodwill gesture after a missed visit.
Add one of your discounts
Open the invoice, or go to the last step of a new one.
Scroll to Total and tap Discount.
On Add discount, tap + beside the discount you want. Tap + again to add it more than once.
Tap the ✓ to save. The invoice total changes straight away.
Add a one-off discount
Scroll to Total and tap Discount.
Tap Add one-off discount.
Give it a name, like "Missed visit". Your client sees this name on the invoice.
Choose Fixed amount or Percentage, and add the amount.
To take it off more than once, tap + on the count under the amount.
Tap the ✓, then tap the ✓ on Add discount to save.
While you create the invoice
On the Select services step, you can also fill in Discount above the services. It's added as one row called "Discount". With Autopopulate on, the discounts on the appointments are brought onto the invoice for you.
Automatic discounts on invoices
An invoice made from appointments keeps the discounts on those appointments.
When you make an invoice by adding services yourself, your automatic discounts that match it are added for you.
They aren't added to receipts or to duplicated invoices. Add them yourself if you need to.
Combining invoices keeps the discounts from each one.
Change or remove a discount
Tap a discount's row under Total. One of your discounts opens Add discount, where you can change how many times it's taken off. A one-off opens so you can change its name, amount or count.
To remove one, swipe left on its row and tap the delete button. On Android, tap the row and choose Remove.
Good to know
A discount comes off the services and surcharges, and can't be more than them. Travel, tax and tips are still charged. See Which kind of discount should I use?
Your client sees each discount by name on the invoice, in the Walkies Journal app, on the invoice email and PDF, and in a web browser from the invoice link.
Only admins and sub-admins can add discounts.
