Client self-check-in is a convenient feature that can streamline the check-in process at your business. In this article, we will guide you through the process of setting up Client Self Check-in at your business.

Set Self Check-in Settings

Before you start using client self-check-in set your Self Check-in search settings. Only staff with business manager or owner permission levels can set the search settings for Self Check-in. This setting allows clients to add themselves to the class if there are available spaces in the class or it can disallow clients to add themselves to a class.

To set Client Self Check-in search settings follow these steps:

  1. Log in as Owner or under a log in with Business Manager permissions

  2. Select your profile icon on the top right

  3. Choose Business Settings

  4. Select Client Self Check-in

  5. Select the Settings tab

  6. Choose either Yes, surface the search box or No, do not allow. Search box will be hidden

  7. Save

Option 1 Yes, surface the search box

This choice allows clients to search for themselves, select the plan they want, and check themselves into a class. Clients will see the first name and first three letters of any clients last name as well as their email if you enable the client search on the Self Check-in page. This will verify they have a valid plan before adding them to class.

Option 2 No, do not allow. Search box will be hidden

This choice only permits clients who have previously checked into a class to use self-check-in and removes the search field from Self Check-in.

How Client Self Check-in Clients with Multiple Plans

It's common for clients to have multiple plans at your business. The Client Self Check-in feature accommodates this scenario. When a client with multiple plans checks in, they will be prompted to choose the plan they want to use for that specific class or appointment.

Pre-booked Clients

Clients who have already booked themselves online will have their names displayed in the interface. They can simply tap the check-in button to check in.


Launch Client Self Check-in

Follow these steps to access the Client Self Check-in feature either on the device you are currently logged into or on a different device:

  1. Select your profile icon on the top right

  2. Choose Business Settings

  3. Select Client Self Check-in

  4. Select the location for the check-in screen to display

  5. Open Client Self Check-in by scanning the QR code, selecting the link, or copy and paste the link to a new device

  6. View the classes available for the day


Client Check-in Experience

Checking In

Clients select the checkbox next to their name to check themselves into class. A client can uncheck themselves into class by selecting the checkbox again.

Client Booking Window

Depending on your booking window, clients may or may not be able to check themselves into class a certain amount of time before or after the class takes place. The class booking window is set up underneath the individual class type under Class Management.

Signing Up for Classes Using the Client Self Check-in

If the setting Yes, surface the search box is enabled and a client doesn't have an eligible plan, they will be prompted to check in with the front desk. If a client has an eligible plan, they can be automatically added to the class.

If the setting No, do not allow. Search box will be hidden clients can not search for themselves, they must already be in the class to check themselves in.

☝️Important Things to Know About Client Self Check-in

  • Clients can not purchase plans or drop-ins from Class Check-in. They can only book using a plan they've already purchased.
