Editing and Updating Plans

This article reviews which settings can be updated for past and future sales.

Updated over a week ago

Walla makes it easy to make changes to both past and future sales, giving you the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and keep your plans up-to-date. However, it's important to note that some settings cannot be changed at all.

Edit a Plan Settings

To modify a setting under a plan, follow these steps:

  1. From the main navigation menu select Plan Management

  2. Select a plan to edit

  3. Select the green edit pencil on the top right corner of a section

  4. Make the desired changes to your plan settings

  5. Save

If you have the ability to update both past and future sales, a pop-up will appear. The absence of a pop-up indicates that the setting cannot be edited for past sales. In cases where the setting is not editable, changes cannot be made for either past or future sales.

โ˜๏ธ Reminder If you have our Marketing Suite add-on changing the plan start date may affect your Marketing Suite automations. When you modify the plan start date type, automations tied to start date may no longer triggered as expected.

Understanding Update Options

It's important to note that not all plan settings can be updated for both past and future sales. Some settings can only be edited for future sales, while others cannot be edited at all. Here's a breakdown of the different update options:

Settings that can be updated for past and future sales:

  • These settings will display a pop-up asking, "Update all plans?" when changes are saved.

  • Examples include name, description, classes covered, member status, access & commitment, payment amount, commitment, perks & benefits, VOD, guest passes, and early termination fees.

Settings that can be updated for future sales only:

  • These settings will not display a pop-up or confirmation after changes are saved.

  • Examples include plan start date, first payment due date, purchase restrictions, one-time purchases, policies & contracts, and online listing.

Settings that cannot be edited:

  • These settings cannot be modified for either past or future sales.

  • Examples include what happens after commitment, introductory discounts, auto-renew settings, and member discounts

โ„น๏ธ Client notifications after updating pricing for past sales

For past sales, updating the price for a recurring plan and selecting Apply to all pre-existing accounts and future purchases will update a client's upcoming payment and all payments thereafter. When updated, your client will receive an email notifying them of the price change.

If I choose update for past and future sales when to the changes take place for previously purchased plans?

If you choose to apply changes to existing accounts, those changes will become effective either at the start of the next billing cycle, their next payment date, or the next renewal of their current subscription plan.

For example, if a customer is on a monthly subscription plan that renews on the 1st of each month, and you make changes to their account settings on the 15th of the current month, the updated settings will be implemented from the 1st of the following month.

What if I edit a client's plan under their profile then edited the setting under plan management and updated for past and future sales?

Additionally, manual updates to client payment schedules indicates that if there have been specific adjustments made to payment schedules outside of the automatic system (manually modified), these particular changes won't be affected by the updates you are making. The system won't override any custom payment arrangements that have been set manually.
