How to Add an Introductory Discount or Trial Offer to a Recurring Plan

Creating a recurring plan with an introductory discount or a trial offer is a great way to attract new customers to your business. This article will guide you through the process of setting up such a plan using an example from a management interface. Whether you offer fitness classes, subscriptions, or any other service, you can easily implement this strategy to boost your client base.

Step 1: Access the Plan Management Interface

To get started, you'll need to access the plan management interface. Follow these steps:

  1. Log In: Log in to your management platform using your credentials.

  2. Navigate to Manage Plans: Once logged in, find the "Manage Plans" option in your dashboard or menu. Click on it to access your plans.

Step 2: Choose the Appropriate Plan Type

In this example, we'll be creating a New Client Membership plan with an introductory discount for fitness classes. However, you can adapt these steps for various services, including appointments or other subscription-based offerings.

  1. Select the Plan Type: Click on "Class Plans" (or the relevant plan type) to set up your new plan. This example focuses on class plans, but you can apply the same principles to other types as well.

  2. Name Your Plan: Give your plan a descriptive name. For this example, let's call it "New Client Membership" to make it clear that it's for new customers.

  3. Specify Plan Details: Provide a brief description of the plan. In our case, we are offering "All Access to All Classes at 50% off for the first month."

  4. Confirm Additional Plan Settings: Customize your plan according to what types of classes the plan includes, when the plan starts and the first payment is collected, if it can be purchased online, etc.

Step 3: Configure Plan Parameters

This step involves specifying the plan's parameters, including its pricing and duration. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Set Pricing and Commitment: Decide on the monthly price for your plan and set the minimum commitment. For instance, you can set the plan to be $150 per month with a minimum commitment of two months.

  2. Introductory Discount: Underneath the pricing and commitment section, look for the option to "Offer an Introductory Discount." Set this to "Yes."

  3. Define Eligibility: To ensure that the discount is only available to new clients or those who have previously purchased an introductory offer, choose the appropriate criteria. This prevents existing members from taking advantage of the discount.

  4. Discount Duration: Specify the discount's duration, such as "50% off the first two payments." This means that if you have a plan with 12 monthly payments, the discount will apply to the first two payments.

Step 4: Review and Confirm

  1. Next Page: Continue to the next page to configure any additional features like guest passes and contract terms.

  2. Review Your Plan: Carefully review the plan details and settings. Ensure that the introductory discount is correctly set.

  3. Price and Terms: In the "Price and Terms" section, you will see the introductory discount clearly mentioned, such as "Introductory discount of 50% off for new clients or if their only purchase plan was an intro offer."

  4. Save Your Plan: Once you've verified all the information, save your plan to make it live.

By following these steps, you can easily create a recurring plan with an introductory discount or a trial offer. This strategy can help attract new customers while maintaining the loyalty of your existing clients. Don't forget to promote your new plan to maximize its impact on your business.
