How do I operate large amounts (OTC) on Wallib?

Written by David Alfonzo Gauna Martinez

💼 What does operating "without limits" on Wallib mean?

On Wallib, "operating without limits" doesn't mean doing whatever you want without rules — it means being able to move large amounts safely, with a personalized approach, and with support from our team.

It's our specialized channel for high-amount transactions, starting from 10,000 USD upward (or its equivalent in COP), designed for those who need something more than "just the app":

  • Negotiate rates directly with a human team.

  • Have close support at every step.

  • Follow a clear flow aligned with regulation.

💸 Who is this channel for?

It's designed for users who are already playing in the big leagues:

  • People who want to move amounts ≥ 10,000 USD (or its equivalent in COP).

  • Companies or individuals with large one-off transactions.

  • Users who value negotiating personalized rates, having direct contact with a specialized team, and handling their transactions with more control and traceability.

Below that minimum amount, it's best to operate directly from the app, using the normal buy/sell flows.

1️⃣ General requirements

Before signing up, make sure you:

  • ✅ Have your Wallib account created and with verified identity (KYC approved).

  • ✅ Are an individual, or the legal representative of a company (if you'll be operating as a legal entity).

  • ✅ Are willing to operate minimum amounts of 10,000 USD or its equivalent in COP.

Depending on your volume and profile, you may be asked for higher KYC levels (with proof of residence and income) to align your limits with the amounts you plan to move.

2️⃣ How to sign up as an individual

  1. Verify your identity on Wallib — account validated as an individual (ID document + selfie).

  2. Fill out the OTC desk sign-up form for individuals: 👉 OTC desk sign-up form – Individual

  3. Attach the requested documentation, for example: information on economic activity and proof of source of funds (statements, certificates, etc.).

Our team reviews your profile and, if everything is in order, you'll be enabled to operate via OTC.

3️⃣ How to sign up as a company (legal entity)

  1. The legal representative must:

    • Create their account on Wallib as an individual.

    • Complete identity validation (KYC) in the app.

  2. Fill out the corporate sign-up form: 👉 OTC desk sign-up form – Company

  3. Attach the company's documentation, for example: certificate of incorporation/commercial registry, tax ID (RUT), legal representative's information, and proof of activity and source of funds.

Our team validates the company's information and documentation. If everything is in order, the company is enabled to operate.

4️⃣ How does an OTC transaction flow work?

Once you're signed up and approved:

  1. We review your documentation and risk profile — we validate your information and the consistency of the amounts you want to trade.

  2. We add you to a direct channel with our team — for example, an exclusive WhatsApp group with the specialized team.

  3. Negotiating the transaction — within operating hours, our team sends you personalized rates for buying or selling crypto in large amounts, and coordinates amounts, currency (COP/USD), and conditions with you.

  4. Closing the transaction — if you accept the rate, the transaction is formally closed, you share the transaction hash with us if you're sending crypto, and you confirm the payment details with us (to your own account, or to a third party's account if properly authorized and registered).

The whole process is guided, so you don't have to improvise steps or handle a large transaction on your own.

5️⃣ Hours and payment timing

This channel operates for rate negotiation:

  • 🗓️ Monday through Friday

  • 🕗 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Payments in COP are executed through daily ACH cycles, with the same banking timeframes we use for standard Wallib withdrawals. In practice, if you close a transaction within business hours, your payment enters that day's ACH cycles or the next business day's, depending on the exact time the transaction is closed.

6️⃣ Third-party payments

If you want the payment for your transaction to be made in the name of a third party, that person must have an active, verified Wallib account, and fill out the third-party payment authorization form with the correct documentation. Without this approved validation, we cannot make payments in the name of other people. See the "Third-party payment authorization for large amounts" article for the full detail of this process.

7️⃣ Recommendations before operating

  • Be clear on the amount and the currency (USD or COP).

  • Make sure your KYC limits are consistent with the amounts you plan to move.

  • Have your proof of source of funds ready if required.

  • Always use official channels (assigned group, authorized WhatsApp, Wallib support).
