How does a user search for rates?

Our platform offers a convenient way to search, book, manage, and track shipments. To navigate to the search page, log in to your account and then click Search at the top of the page.

The search page is divided into four sections, each requiring specific information about the shipment to generate live rates with bookable capacity.

Section 1: Route

Based on the user’s needs, they can select either an airport or a full address for both the origin and destination. They should follow these steps to select an airport or a full address:

For an airport:

  • Click on the airport toggle

  • Enter the airport code or the city name in the designated field

  • You can also set a preferred airport

For an address:

  • Click on the address toggle

  • Provide the complete address details in the respective fields, which include street address, city, state/province, and zip/postal code

When the user is searching with an address, there is no need for them to select a port. They simply add the address into the origin and destination fields, and our routing engine will search for the most optimal port for them.

The routing engine will return all cross-matching contract rate options available based on the trucking services uploaded by you, the seller.

For dynamic rates, the routing engine will select the ports from the trucking services you configured with the address. If you configured more than one port with the same address, then the routing engine will select the optimal routing based on our port prioritization algorithm: distance, type, popularity of the port, etc

The selection of an origin - either an address or an airport - dictates the information required:

  • For an airport pickup, we'll ask for a preferred departure date.

  • For an address, we'll prompt for a cargo-ready date.

The departure date is the scheduled date of the flight's take-off, marking the beginning of the cargo's journey. Conversely, the latest arrival date (visible at checkout if the destination is an address, not a port) indicates the latest date by which the user wants their cargo to reach its destination.

Section 2: My Shipment

Users must specify the departure date for the cargo and the goods type.

There will be more results for general cargo, with commodities that are hazardous or require temperature control showing fewer options.

It's crucial to specify the main commodity being shipped, particularly if it needs specific handling like temperature control or is a pharmaceutical product. Users can find their commodity by searching its name or HS code, or by selecting it from the provided list.

Section 3: Shipment Details

Defining search load.

  • Users must enter the total quantity of units for shipment. If shipping multiple units with different weights and sizes, they must click on the "Add Units" button to detail each unit separately.

Users must indicate the weight of the cargo in kilograms (kg) or pounds (lb) and the size of the cargo in either centimetres (cm) or inches (in). Users must ensure they select the correct unit of measurement.

Users have two options for weight calculation - "Unit" or "Total".

  • For "Unit," the system will consider the weight and size of each unit.

  • For "Total," the system will calculate the overall cubic meter (CBM) and weight of the entire shipment.

  • Users must specify if their goods are turnable or stackable. This is important for determining the amount of space the cargo will occupy during transportation.

Section 4: Services

Users have the flexibility to add or remove any additional services for their shipment. To incorporate extra services and fees into a quote, users must select the relevant options, such as customs, origin, or destination charges.

Users must be aware that all shipments are required to undergo screening before arriving at the airport. There are checkboxes for this, as well as ‘Known shipper’ when the shipment starts or ends in the US.

After double-checking that all the information is correct, users click "Search and Book" to see live rates with bookable capacity.

After clicking on the Search and book button, you will be directed to the results page where you will find the cargo shipping options. If there are no available live rates with bookable capacity for a customer's shipment, they will be directed to submit a Custom Quote.
