Navigating the card analytics

Updated over a month ago

Tracking how your content is used is essential for keeping documentation accurate, relevant, and up to date. With Card-level Insights in Whale, you can view key engagement metrics, manage ownership, and even restore previous versions of your Cards—all in one place.

This is especially useful when collaborating on SOPs, ensuring version control, and maintaining a high-quality knowledge base over time.

🔍 How to Access Card-Level Insights

  1. Open the Card you want to review.

  2. Click the “Insights” icon (found in the card options menu).

A pop-up will appear with key data:

  • 📈 Number of Views – See how often this card has been opened.

  • 👥 Ownership – Check who created the card and who the assigned expert is.

  • 🕓 Version History – View and compare changes made to the content over time.

🕒 Using Version History

  1. In the Insights pop-up, scroll down to the Version History section.

  2. Click on any older version to compare it with the current one.

  3. Review the highlighted changes side-by-side.

  4. ✅ Want to roll back? Click “Revert to this version” at the bottom of the comparison view.

💡 Example Use Case

You’re updating an SOP on “Handling Customer Refunds.” After a recent update, the team reports confusion. Using Card Insights, you:

  • See the recent version change

  • Compare it to the previous wording

  • Revert back to the clearer version—all in a few clicks
