When creating a message for a campaign, you can ask the recipients to reply with a keyword(s) to automate a follow-up action.
To add a trigger to a campaign, follow these instructions:
1. Click on Create Campaign
2. Complete Basic Info and click Save
3. Add your audience and click Save
4. Create your message and include a simple but unique keyword that stands out
In this example, we're asking the contact to reply with the keyword OPEN. You can create any keyword you like, but it needs to be a clear and unique keyword. You can also set up multiple keywords for the same message. Some customers use keywords like:
β
YES
NO
Numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.)
5. Click on Save
6. Under Automations, Click on Add Trigger
7. Click on Keyword Trigger
8. Under Keywords, create the keyword you mentioned in the message
For this example, we're creating the keyword OPEN.
9. After creating your keyword, click on Next - Add Action
10. Create the message you want the contact to receive when they respond with the keyword
This is the message the contact will receive when they reply with the keyword.
Sending an automated response is the default action. When you click on the dropdown menu there are other automated actions you can choose to happen when someone replies with the keyword.
11. Click on Save Keyword Automation
If you receive a Failed to create campaign trigger error, this means you have too many keywords set up for the trigger.
There is a limit of 10 keywords. If your trigger has more than 10 keywords, remove the excess keywords, and you can then save the trigger.
