Modifying Truck Pro Access and Permission Levels

Note: This article refers to actions only accessible by Truck Pros with Sales Manager access.

Properly set permissions help protect sensitive information, maintain control over system actions, and streamline workflows. This article will guide you through the process of adding or removing a Truck Pro from a Sales Manager or Inventory Manager permission level. By customizing these permission levels, you can ensure that users have the right level of access while safeguarding data security and maintaining operational efficiency.


Modifying Sales Manager Permission Levels

How to Assign the Sales Manager Permission Level to a Truck Pro

Reminder: Only assign the Sales Manager role to individuals who need full system access. This role allows modifications to other Truck Pros' profiles and settings.

Step 1: Access the Truck Pro's Profile

  • Once you're logged into your Work Truck Solutions site, open the Tools menu. From there, navigate to the Truck Pro Management section and find the Truck Pro you wish to assign to have Sales Manager access. Click on their name to open up their Truck Pro profile.

Step 2: Update and Confirm new Permission Level

  • (A) In the profile section, navigate to where it says Sales Manager.

    • Click on “Not Sales Manager” which will open up a small pop up window.

  • (B) In the pop-up window, you will want to check “Yes”.

  • (C) Click on the checkbox to confirm your choice of assigning the Truck Pro the new permission level.

    • Make sure to double check that the Truck Pro has been changed from “Not Sales Manager” to now reflect “Sales Manager” within their profile.

Step 3: Additional Settings

  • Depending on the settings that have been enabled for your site, there will be two additional settings that will automatically be turned on once you give a Truck Pro Sales Manager permissions. You will want to review and confirm which additional access you want the Truck Pro to have. These settings include:

    • Send Monthly Analytics Email

    • Prospecting Special Price Field


How to Remove Sales Manager permissions from a Truck Pro

Step 1: Access the Truck Pro's Profile

  • Follow the same process as outlined in Step 1 of the "How to Assign a Truck Pro to Inventory Manager" section above to navigate to and open the Truck Pro's profile.

Step 2: Update and remove from Permission Level

  • (A) In the profile section, navigate to where it says Sales Manager.

    • Click on “Sales Manager”, which will open up a small pop up window.

  • (B) In the pop-up window, you will want to uncheck “Yes”.

  • (C) Click on the checkmark box to confirm your choice of removing Sales Manager permissions from the Truck Pro.

Step 3: Additional Permissions

  • After removing a Truck Pro from Sales Manager-level permissions, it’s important to review and adjust any additional settings that were previously turned on to ensure they no longer have access to additional settings that they should not have or no longer need to have turned on. These settings include but are not limited to:

    • Send Monthly Analytics Email

    • Prospecting Special Price Field

How to Assign Inventory Manager permissions to a Truck Pro

Step 1: Access the Truck Pro's Profile

  • Navigate to the Truck Pro Management page and find the Truck Pro you wish to assign Inventory Manager access. Click on their name, which will open up a drop-down revealing their Truck Pro profile.

Step 2: Update and Confirm new Permission Level

  • (A) In the profile section, navigate to where it says Inventory Manager.

    • Click on “Not Inventory Manager”, which will open up a small pop up window.

  • (B) In the pop-up window, you will want to check “Yes”.

  • (C) Click on the checkbox to confirm your choice of assigning the new permission level to the Truck Pro.

    • Make sure to double check that the Truck Pro has been changed from “Not Inventory Manager” to now reflect “Inventory Manager” within their profile.
