Setting up your Inventory Feed

Overview of getting your inventory into the platform

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Getting your inventory onto the platform is a critical first step during onboarding. The instructions below will give you details helpful to ensuring we get necessary fields to support your business.

This guide outlines the steps to connect your inventory management system (IMS) or website provider to our platform.

Option 1: The "Done-For-You" Method (Recommended)

The easiest way to set this up is to authorize your inventory provider (e.g., vAuto, Homenet, Dealer.com, eBizAutos) to send the data to us directly.

Simply copy and paste the template below and email it to your inventory support representative.

Subject: Request for Inventory Data Feed Export

To: [Your Inventory Provider Support Email]

Hello Support Team,

We are partnering with Work Truck Solutions for marketing and need to set up a daily inventory export. Please create a recurring daily feed with the following specifications:

  • Format: CSV or XML

  • Frequency: Daily (Updated every 24 hours)

  • Inventory Type: New and Used

  • Delivery Method: FTP / SFTP (See credentials below)

FTP Credentials:

  • Host: {}

  • Username: [Insert_Username]

  • Password: [Insert_Password]

  • Port: 21 (or 22 for SFTP)

Please confirm once this feed has been activated and the first file has been sent.

Thank you,

[Your Name]

Option 2: Manual / Direct URL Setup

If your provider generates a publicly accessible URL (perm-link) for your data feed rather than using FTP, please ensure the file meets the following criteria:

  1. Format: Comma Separated Values (.csv) or XML.

  2. Accessibility: The URL must be static (the link does not change) and publicly accessible (no login required, or credentials provided).

  3. Images: Images must be provided as comma-delimited URLs within the feed.

Please send your Feed URL to: onboarding@worktrucksolutions.com

Common Questions & Troubleshooting

How often does the feed update?

We process feeds every night. If you change a price or sell a car in your IMS today, the ads will update the following morning.

Why are my images missing in the preview?

Ensure your feed includes direct image links (ending in .jpg or .png). If the feed only links to a website gallery viewer, our system cannot extract the image.

Can I exclude wholesale units?

Yes. Please ask your inventory provider to filter the feed to send only "Retail" or "Front Line Ready" units.

Need technical assistance?

If your provider asks for specific mapping documentation or IP whitelisting, please contact our technical support team at onboarding@worktrucksolutions.com.
