Track every site a commercial customer operates from on the Locations tab so delivery, contacts, and follow-up stay tied to the right address.
Before You Start
Role & Permissions: Salespeople can do this for their own customers. Sales Managers and Admins can do it for any customer. Analytics and Inventory Manager users can view customers but can't make changes.
Before you begin: The customer record must already exist.
Steps to Add a Location
Step 1: Open the Locations tab
Open the customer record and click the Locations tab.
Step 2: Start a new location
Click New location. The Add location window opens.
Step 3: Enter location details
Enter a Location name and Address (both required). As you start typing the address, the system automatically suggests matching addresses so you can pick the correct one.
Optionally choose Associated contacts and add a Phone number.
Step 4: Save the location
Click Save location.
View a Location's Details
Click a location's row on the Locations tab to open the Location Details panel. It shows a map of the location and all of its associated details.
Open in Maps: opens the location's address in Google Maps in a new browser tab.
Add a contact: click the + icon and select the contact to associate with this location. Only existing contacts appear in this list — new contacts can't be created here. To create one, see How to Add Contacts to a Customer Record.
Edit a contact: click the ... menu next to the contact to edit their information, including name, title, email addresses, phone numbers, and notes.
Pro tip: On your mobile device, clicking Open in Maps lets you open the location directly in the Google Maps app.
Edit or Remove a Location
Edit: click the ... menu on the location and click Edit.
Remove a contact from the location: edit the location, click the ... menu next to the contact's name, then click Remove.
Remove the location: click the ... menu on the location and click Delete location, then confirm in the pop-up.
Good to Know
Editing a location also updates it on any quotes that use it — the quote stays linked to the location.
Deleting a location removes it from any existing quotes that use it.
Conclusion
With locations on the record, your team can pick the right site when quoting or scheduling without digging through notes.
If you don't see the Locations tab on a customer record, it isn't part of your current setup. Contact support for assistance.
