Creating New Forms: A Signature-Form Using WorkBright’s Pre-Built Signature Stamp on a PDF

Can I create a signature form to send out to employees?

Updated over 2 months ago

You can if you have a PDF document that you need your staff members to:

  • Read

  • Sign and Date without the signature being placed on a specific line.

This type of form is one that an administrator can create without use of Acrobat Pro or assistance from WorkBright.

The pre-built WorkBright Signature Stamp consumes the bottom 3.5 inches of the final page of the document you load. Before you load your PDF into WorkBright, edit it to leave this space blank.

Once you’ve edited the document appropriately, save it as a PDF.

Click Onboarding > Forms > + New Form

Getting to the New Form Page

On the next screen, you can name the form, provide additional instructions, and set the deadline. When you reach “Form Body,” upload your edited PDF, then select “Digital Signature” under “Employee Submits.” Make optional as necessary and click “Submit” bottom.

The resulting form will present to the staff member as seen below.

Submissions of the form will include the staff members IP Address in addition to their name, date, and signature.

NOTE: Be sure to clear AT LEAST 3.5 inches from the bottom of the final page if you choose to create this type of form in your WorkBright account. Clearing less than 3.5 inches will result in submissions that present with the stamp overlaying text from the document, as seen below:

Other important tips:

  • If you notice your form is displaying the signature upside down, you'll want to make sure that there are no other fields on the form. You'll want to open the form in Adobe Acrobat Pro and enter prepare mode, if you see any fields (blue boxes) you'll want to delete them. This should clear up your problem

    • What if your form doesn't have any fields when you looked in Adobe?

      • Having no fields on the form could also cause the pre-built WorkBright signature to show upside down as it has nothing to anchor to. What we suggest is to place a Text Field anywhere on the form. This text field does not have to be manipulated in anyway. Doing this should fix this issue.

    • If you still can't get it to work OR if you don't have Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can always reach out to our support team by emailing us (support@WorkBright.com), chat with us (chat button on lower right side of page), or join our Office Hours to speak with us live.
