If you are looking to post an LMT job ad for Department of Home Affairs purposes in conjunction with your Migration Specialist, this article will show you how to send your job ad draft for a review.
Before you start
Before sending a job ad to your migration specialist for review, make sure:
Requirement | Why it is needed |
You have a Workinitiatives employer account | You need access to create and draft job ads |
Your migration specialist has access to your account | They need account access before you can send the draft for review |
You are creating a job ad draft | The review request is sent from the job ad form |
LMT is enabled, if applicable | Required if the job ad needs to meet Labour Market Testing requirements |
Here is a quick 1 minute video on how to do that:
Step 1: Give your migration specialist access
Before your migration specialist can review your job ad, they need access to your employer account.
To invite your migration specialist:
Go to Manage Service Providers from the left-hand menu.
Select Invite Service Provider.
Enter your migration specialist’s details.
Send the invitation.
Wait for your migration specialist to accept the invitation.
Once accepted, they can access your employer account and assist with relevant job ad or LMT review activities.
Step 2: Start a new job ad
To create the job ad draft:
Log in to your Workinitiatives employer account.
Select Post a Job from the top-right corner of your account.
Begin completing the job ad form.
Step 3: Enable Labour Market Testing if required
If the job ad needs to meet Australian Labour Market Testing requirements, turn on the LMT option at the top of the job ad form.
The option asks:
Does this job advertisement need to meet Australian Labour Market Testing requirements?
Turn this on before completing the rest of the job ad if the role needs to be created as an LMT job ad.
Important: If LMT is enabled, the platform may restrict some job ad options that are not compatible with the LMT posting flow.
For example, part-time roles may not be accepted in the LMT flow.
If you are unsure whether the ad should be posted as an LMT job ad, ask your migration specialist before publishing.
Step 4: Complete the job ad details
Fill out the job ad form with the required role information.
This may include:
job title
category
sub-category
job location
ANZSCO code, if applicable
work type
salary type
salary range
candidate matching preferences
job summary
job description
candidate questions, if required
Enterprise Job Board section, if applicable
job ad settings
Here is a complete video guide on posting an LMT job:
Before sending the ad for review, make sure the draft is as complete and accurate as possible.
Step 5: Ask your migration specialist to review the ad
When the draft is ready:
Scroll to the bottom of the job ad form.
Select Ask migration specialist to review the ad.
Choose the migration specialist you granted access to.
Select Send.
Your migration specialist will receive an email notifying them that you have shared a job ad draft for review.
And that's it! Now you can have your migration specialist review all of your LMT compliant job ads.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see my migration specialist in the review dropdown
Check that your migration specialist has been invited and has accepted access to your employer account.
Go to Manage Service Providers to review their status.
My migration specialist did not receive the review email
Ask them to check their junk or spam folder.
Also confirm that they have access to your employer account and that the correct specialist was selected before sending the review request.
I have not invited my migration specialist yet
Go to Manage Service Providers and send them an invitation before trying to request a job ad review.
I am not sure whether the job ad needs LMT
Speak with your migration specialist before publishing the job ad.
Workinitiatives cannot provide migration advice or confirm whether LMT is required for your situation.
I need to change the job ad after sending it for review
Update the draft job ad if it has not been published yet.
If the ad has already been published, be careful before making changes, especially if it is an LMT job ad. Changing a published LMT ad may affect the advertising record.
