Sharing your job using your QR code

This article explains how employers can use the job ad QR code feature in Workinitiatives to share job ads more easily.

What is the job ad QR code feature?

When you post a job ad on Workinitiatives, the platform automatically creates a unique QR code for that job. The QR code links directly to the job listing.

This means candidates do not need to manually search for the job. They can scan the QR code using their phone camera and open the job ad immediately.

Here's a quick run down on the QR code feature:

We’re excited to announce a brand-new feature on Workinitiatives designed to make sharing your job ads faster, simpler, and more effective — QR codes for every job ad.

Now, every time you post a job on our platform, we’ll automatically generate a unique QR code linked directly to that job listing. This makes it easier for candidates to find and apply for your roles. These unique QR codes gives you more flexibility in promoting your vacancies through your own channels.

Why use a QR code?

QR codes make it easier to share your job ads outside the Workinitiatives platform.

You can use QR codes to:

  • promote roles at events

  • share jobs on printed flyers or posters

  • add job ads to shop windows or noticeboards

  • include job links in social media campaigns

  • share vacancies in email newsletters

  • make it faster for candidates to access and apply

This can help increase job ad visibility and make it easier for interested candidates to apply.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find the QR code

Go to Jobs > Job Ads, find the relevant job, and select the Share Job icon.

The QR code should appear in the sharing window.

The QR code will not download

Refresh the page and try again.

If the issue continues, try another browser or contact Workinitiatives support through the chatbot.

The QR code opens the wrong job

Check that you selected Share Job for the correct job ad.

Download the QR code again from the correct job listing and replace any previous versions you have shared.

The QR code is not scanning

Check that the QR code is clear, not stretched, not cropped, and large enough to scan.

If it is printed, make sure the print quality is high and the code is not damaged.

Candidates cannot apply after scanning

Check whether the job ad is still live and accepting applications.

If the job ad has expired or been closed, candidates may no longer be able to apply.

Someone may have tampered with my printed QR code

Remove the printed material immediately.

Download a fresh QR code from Workinitiatives and place it in a more secure location.
