Get a high-level view of how many students have submitted writing on an assignment.

Use these steps to check class completion on an assignment quickly and ensure that students are completing assigned work and reviews. Teachers can also see if there are ungraded submissions for an assignment.

Note: Students must click to 'Submit' their writing to show it as completed. If an assignment has more than one section (i.e. a Plan section and a Write section) students will need to submit both sections.

1. Click 'My Assignments' and choose 'Active Assignments' in the left menu to view all assigned work. You can also use the dropdown to specify only assignments assigned to a class.

2. A snapshot of the progress is shown in the assignment tile.

  • How many classes this assignment is assigned to (including "Assign to Me")

  • How many students it has been assigned to

  • The percentage of writing that has been submitted

  • The percentage of submitted writing that has been graded

3. Click on the assignment to view the same information by class section.

4. Click on a specific class to view more detail about student progress on the assignment. The 'Grade Submissions' section shows:

  • How much writing has been submitted

    • Note: If the assignment has more than one section, students will need to submit each section

  • How many self-reviews have been completed

  • How many peer reviews are completed

  • How many submissions have been graded by the teacher

Note: Click the 'Grade Now' section to view submitted writing in a digital 'stack' of papers, so you can quickly score writing and leave feedback for students.

5. Scroll down to see a quick snapshot of each student's progress on the assignment.

Notes:

  • Assignments with more than one section will need to have each section submitted for completion. In the example above, this student has only submitted one of 2 sections.

  • This student has only completed half of the assigned peer and self-reviews. Assignments with multiple sections will be reviewed by section, similar to how they are submitted.
