If you have assigned a Writable assignment in Canvas you can access students' submitted writing via SpeedGrader.

You can access SpeedGrader from the Canvas Dashboard or from the Canvas assignment using the directions below.

Note: Canvas SpeedGrader will only work for Writable assignments created within Canvas. If you've created an assignment in Writable, you will need to go to Writable directly to complete grading.


From the Canvas Dashboard

When a student submits their Writable assignment, a Canvas To-Do will be shown in your Canvas Dashboard.

1. Click on a Task to open the student's assignment in SpeedGrader.

2. Click the 'Launch Grading' tile to open the assignment in Writable.

3. Grade the student's work using the Writable tools.


From the Canvas Assignment

Teachers can also open SpeedGrader in Canvas from the assignment.

1. First, click the course in Canvas.

2. Click 'Assignments' in the left menu.

3. Click on the Writable assignment.

4. Click the 'SpeedGrader' button.

5. Click the 'Launch Grading' tile to open the assignment in Writable.

6. Grade the student's work using the Writable tools.
