Word and character counts for student writing is automatically recorded while students write. Both students and teachers may view the word and character counts in Writable.

1. Prior to submitting, students can view the word and character counts for their writing above the Writable editor. This counter will automatically update as the student adds or deletes words or characters in their writing.

2. After submitting, students can view the word and character counts for their writing below their submission.

1. Prior to submitting, teachers can view the word count for each student's writing from the 'Students' tab on the Assignment Dashboard.
