The new sidebar feature makes it easy for your students to navigate to another section of their course .. or, to quickly hop from one course to another!
Important Note: After you turn on the Sidebar, it may take a short time to appear, due to caching on our server side. In most cases, this is no more than about 10 minutes. Please contact our support team if you have questions.
How to Turn on and Use the Sidebar from your Admin Account
As, the admin you are in control of whether you choose to have the sidebar show for your students, or have it completely turned off.
The sidebar will be either on or off, for all courses in your account.
You’ll find the toggle to turn your sidebar on or off by Navigating to your Account section from your admin dashboard, and selecting the Your School tab.
Scroll down to School Settings to toggle the Sidebar on or off:
Once you’ve toggled it on, you’ll see a second option appear: Community Forum.
This determines whether your students will have an option to access the Forum, from the sidebar.
FYI: it may take a bit of time to cache (typically 10 minutes, though it could be up to an hour).
How Your Students Can Use the Sidebar
Your students can open or close the sidebar by using the arrow to expand or minimize it:
