How to Connect with CalDAV Calendar

CalDAV is a technology that lets you synchronize your calendars over the internet. Imagine you have a calendar with your email provider (like GMX, web.de, Posteo, or Mailbox.org) and you want to access these appointments in other apps too – that's exactly what CalDAV does.

With CalDAV, your appointments automatically sync across different devices and applications. The great thing about it: CalDAV is an open standard supported by many providers. This means you're not locked into large platforms like Google Calendar or Microsoft – you can also use smaller, privacy-focused providers.

This integration is available on all Zeeg plans (Starter, Professional, Business, Scale, Enterprise).


Connect your CalDAV Calendar with Zeeg

1. In your Zeeg dashboard, click on your name in the top left and select Integrations from the dropdown menu.

2. Search for CalDAV Calendar and click on the integration to open its details.

3. Click Add + next to CalDAV (Self-hosted, GMX, Zimbra etc.).

4. Enter your complete email address, Password and Server URL

5. Click Save to complete the connection.

After a successful connection, Zeeg will automatically synchronize your calendar. This may take a few minutes. Your appointments will then appear in your Zeeg availability.


Find your CalDAV server URL

The CalDAV server URL varies by provider. Here are some examples:

If your provider isn't listed:

  1. Open a search engine (e.g., Google)

  2. Search for: "caldav [Your Provider] server"

    • Example: caldav gmx server

  3. The server URL can usually be found in your email provider's official documentation

Tip: Make sure to include the complete URL including https://.


Common issues and solutions

Connection fails

Problem: Login is rejected or the connection cannot be established.

Solutions:

  • Verify that your email address and password are correct

  • Ensure the server URL is complete and correct (including https://)

  • For some providers, you may need to create an app-specific password if you have two-factor authentication enabled

  • Contact your email provider to confirm that CalDAV is enabled

Appointments not syncing

Problem: The connection exists, but appointments don't appear in Zeeg.

Solutions:

  • Wait a few minutes—the initial synchronization may take some time

  • Check if the correct calendar is selected

  • Disconnect and reconnect the calendar

  • Contact Zeeg support if the problem persists


Two-factor authentication (2FA)

If you have two-factor authentication enabled with your email provider, you may need an app password:

  1. Log in to your email provider

  2. Look for security settings

  3. Create a new app password for CalDAV

  4. Use this app password instead of your regular password in Zeeg

  • GMX

  • web.de

  • Posteo
