Your Zellar score is public. This transparency allows you to share your sustainability journey with customers, partners, and anyone interested. It's a way to showcase your commitment to environmental responsibility and build trust with stakeholders.
How is it calculated?
How is it calculated?
Your Zellar score is calculated out of a maximum of 1,000 points. The breakdown is as follows:
Action (600 points): This category reflects the sustainable actions you take, like reducing waste or implementing energy-efficient practices.
Aggregated points from completed missions, projects & rituals
Points are awarded for previous actions taken
Giving (100 points): This score considers your efforts in giving back to the environment, such as volunteering or supporting sustainability projects.
50 points are awarded if you meet your carbon offset, donation, or volunteering target for the year
25 points are awarded if you meet your target for last year
No points awarded for older years - giving has to be repeated to keep having an impact
Reduction (300 points): This section awards points based on the reduction of your carbon emissions
All energy & travel data must be calculated
Reduction is measured as the change from your baseline year to the most recent year of data
10 points for each 1% of reduction (up to a max of 300 points)
Note: We are regularly making changes and adding new features to Zellar. This means that the actions, breakdowns and weightings which go into the calculation of the Zellar score will change over time. We will keep you updated about any significant changes.
Why is your Zellar score important?
Why is your Zellar score important?
Sustainability can be complicated. We want to make it simple and show what actions have the biggest impact.
Output goals are difficult to measure accurately and take time to improve. Your Zellar score is always live and tracks the positive impact you are making. It should complement longer term measures, such as reducing your emissions.
