Extract from MSG

How to use the Extract from MSG utility

The Extract from message function is used to extract the attachments from an MSG file. This saves you from having to go into the file to manually save each one. To go to the function you click on Utilities followed by Extract from message

Selecting the utility will bring you to a page with options on the left, and the File Explorer on the right.

Msg file - Click in this field and then either type the path to the MSG file or use the File explorer to find the file you want. Note: the document must be in .msg format.

Extract folder - Click in this field to specify the location you would like to extracted attachments to be saved. If you do not edit this field it will default to the same location as the MSG file.

Open folder when extracted - Toggled on by default. If selected this will open the folder that the attachments are saved in after extraction has finished.

Extract - Click this button to begin extraction after you have filled in the required fields above.

After clicking the Extract button this window will appear with a list of all attachments found in the MSG file. If you know the attachments you want then you can select the specific ones, of if you want them all you can click Select all attachments on the left hand side.

When finished, and if selected, the file explorer will open with your attachments inside. Shown below.
