How to use the Extract from PDF utility

Updated this week

You can use our Extract pages from PDF document function to simply specify the pages you need from the large PDF and it will pull them out and create a new PDF which contains just the selected pages.

To get to the Extract function, click Utilities followed by Extract pages from PDF document.

Once you have selected the Extract from PDF utility, Zylpha will display five fields which let you define all the necessary settings. These are explained below.

File to be extracted - Click in this field and then select the PDF document you wish to extract from. You can either use the File Explorer built in to Zylpha or click Browse and use Windows File Explorer.

After you have selected your document, the Page(s) section will update with the amount of pages in the selected document.

Page range - In this field you enter the pages you would like extracted. Use a comma to separate single pages or ranges and used a hyphen to define a range of more than one page.
For example: 1,3,19-24 would extract pages 1, 3, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24.
Note: Ensure you do not put any spaces in the Page range field.
Note: You cannot enter a higher page number than the amount being detected by the Page(s) field.

Save location - This field will tell you where the extracted PDF will be saved. It will default to the same location that the original file is from. If this is not the desired destination you can edit the path manually, or use the File Explorer to select the save location.

View extracted document - This is turned on by default. If selected this will open the new PDF when it has finished extracting.

Extract pages - This button will start the extraction. Click once you have filled in all the above fields.
