How to use Print to PDF

Updated over 2 months ago

The Print to PDF function can be useful for both sanitising and splitting/extracting your source documents.

The guide below provides guidance on saving a sanitised copy of your document. For guidance on splitting a document using "Print to PDF" please see here:

Print to PDF on Windows

To print a document to PDF on Windows, please open the document outside of Zylpha in your chosen PDF viewer. In the example below we are using Adobe Acrobat to open a PDF, the print options may be in a different location when using a different viewer.

With the document open, please select "Print". This is usually found after clicking File > Print. However, the print button may be in a different location depending on the application used to open the document.

This will open the print options. Here, select "Microsoft Print to PDF" as your printer, leaving all other print options as default, and click print.

After clicking "Print", you will be prompted to select a save location of the new document. Once this has completed, you can replace the document in your Zylpha bundle with the new copy.

Print to PDF on Mac

To print a document to PDF on a Mac machine, please open the document outside of Zylpha in its native application.

With the document open, please select File > Print in the menu bar at the top.

This will open the print options. Here, select "Save as PDF" using the dropdown at the bottom, leaving all other print options as default, and click print.

After clicking "Print", you will be prompted to select a save location of the new document. Once this has completed, you can replace the document in your Zylpha bundle with the new copy.
