🚨 Crucial Prerequisites (Read Before Designing!)
Personalized swag relies completely on the data you upload to your Swag Store. Before you begin designing a personalized item, you must ensure your recipient list is properly set up.
The Golden Rule of Personalization Data
The Points tab must be populated with the exact data you want to print. For example, if your personalized hoodie design includes the "Location" field, you must ensure the Location column is filled out for your recipients.
Warning: If a user is missing the required data field in their profile, the personalized product will be completely hidden from their storefront.
How to Add a Personalized Design Layer
Once your recipient data is loaded and ready, you can start building your custom products.
Navigate to the Customize tab in your Admin Dashboard.
Click on the specific product you want to design.
In the design editor, click + Add and select Personalized.
Click Select personalization type and choose the specific data field you wish to pull (e.g., Last Name, Start Date, etc.).
Design Tips & Best Practices ✏️
You have full creative control over how this data appears on the final product. Here are a few ways to make your personalized swag look perfect:
Stacking & Free Text
You aren't limited to just one field! There are over 20 variants of personalized fields to choose from. You can stack multiple personalization layers on top of each other, and incorporate standard free text around them (e.g., Free text: "Team" + Personalization layer: "Department").
Custom Styling
Just like standard text, you have full control over the fonts, colors, sizing, and alignment of the personalized layers.
Use the Demo Data Preview
Not sure if a long name will fit on the mug? On the right-hand side of the design editor, look for the Personalized Demo Data section. You can type sample data into these fields to preview exactly how the personalization will look before you save it.
