Managing 2FA Security & User Activation

Learn how Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) protects your organization and how to complete user setup.

What is 2FA and Why is it Required?

Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra security layer to ensure only authorized team members can access your Snappy dashboard.

  • Factor 1: Your password.

  • Factor 2: A unique, time-sensitive code sent to your phone or authenticator app.

Requiring 2FA blocks automated unauthorized access and ensures your gifting budget remains secure.

Why Does a User Show as "Inactive"?

If a team member is marked as Inactive in your User Management tab, it simply means they have not completed their 2FA setup yet.

  • The Setup Process: When added, users receive an email invite. Their status remains "Inactive" until they log in and pair their device or phone number with 2FA.

  • The Resolution: Have the user log in and complete the prompt. Their account status will instantly switch to Active upon setup.

Troubleshooting Activation Issues

  • Check Pending Invites: Confirm the user accepted their original email invitation.

  • Resend Invitation: If lost, click Resend Invite next to their name in your dashboard to issue a fresh setup email.

  • Verify Device Time Sync: If using an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator), ensure the user’s mobile device time settings are set to Automatic so the verification codes synchronize properly.
