Snappy uses dynamic security measures to protect your recipients’ gifts from unauthorized access without complicating their redemption experience. Every gift link includes a unique, time-sensitive security code to ensure only the intended recipient can claim their gift.
How Security Codes Work
Gift ID + Dynamic Code: A Snappy gift link can only be opened when combined with its unique security code.
72-Hour Expiration: Each generated security code is valid for 72 hours from the time it is sent.
60-Day Device Authorization: Once a recipient opens their gift link on a specific phone or computer, that device is saved as authorized. They won't need to re-verify on that same device for 60 days.
Automatic Link Renewal: If a link expires before the recipient opens it, clicking the link allows them to request a fresh link sent directly to their email or phone number in one click.
Updated Communications: All automated Snappy reminder emails and SMS messages automatically include a refreshed, fully valid gift link.
Important Exception for Gift Codes / Bulk Links:
Gifts created using the Gift Codes / Downloadable Links generator do not include dynamic security codes because there is no email address or phone number attached to the gift upfront.
What Your Recipient Sees (The Experience)
1. Opening an Expired Link
If a recipient opens a link after 72 hours without prior authorization, they will see an expired link screen with a simple prompt: "Resend My Gift Link".
2. One-Click Resend
Clicking Resend My Gift Link immediately sends an updated email or SMS containing a fresh, active gift link to the recipient’s contact information on file.
3. Seamless Gift Claiming
The recipient taps the new link in their email or text message to immediately view and claim their gift.
