This feature will allow you to bulk update valve's first position in one go using the Excel template functionality. At some point, you might need to update a lot of valve position statuses (for example when valves are delivered from valve manufacturers, FAT test, from older brownfield structures or information from previous operators/contractors).
Navigate to the Valve list section where you will find the 'Set first position' button:
You will be able to download the Excel template. The template will only include all editable valves without a set status. Any valve with a status already set will not be included in the Excel list download. I.e. if the field has 100 valves uploaded in ValveTrack, and 10 of them has a status set, then the Excel list will contain the 90 remaining valves that have a 'blank' value in the 'last final position' in ValveTrack.
Set the valve's first position status
Find and open the 'Set Initial Valve Status' Excel document in your local download folder.
Navigate to the very last column in the Excel document (column U) to insert the status value of either Open, Partly open or Closed.
NB 1: Please remember that you can't leave any row blank (will be an error message) and that the status is spelled correctly.
NB 2: Only the 'First Status' column will be updated. Any other changes made in the file will not be reflected when uploading the Excel document.
Upload the filled out valve status Excel document and confirm the data upload by clicking the Submit button. You will not be able to submit the list if you have errors in the list. If you try to upload a status for a valve that is already having a status in ValveTrack, you will also get an error message that the valve already has a created log/status check set.
Once the upload is completed, you will be able to sort the 'Last log entry time' in the overall Valve list to find the valves updated.
The valve status upload is creating a Verify status check log on each corresponding valve that you find in the Logs sub-section, with the usual audit history tracked.
