Bulk upload of logs and checks through Excel

How to bulk upload logs and status checks via Excel to enhance integration with E7

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can follow these steps.

Navigate to the Valve list

Logs Import

Download the Excel template

Find the template in the local Download folder (NB: the name of the file will be VT - (field name) - Valve Logs Import)

The Excel template contains all the Logs that are currently in the in ValveTrack:

All rows with an existing GUID (column A) exists already, and all attributes except Log Id[Guid] (Column A) can be changed. Please do not change the GUID as that will create a system error when uploading the template.

Adding a log with Excel

Create a new log with a new row in the excel template. Find the relevant Valve Id you want to add a log to. It is also required to add Time, Final Position and Type (Log/Status check). If you add Initial Position to a Status check, the data will be ignored. In the end add all relevant data such as Break Out Torque, Max Running Torque, Actual Turns, Comments etc. NB. Log Id [Guid] (Column A) must be left blank to create new log in ValveTrack.

Required attributes marked with red

Uploading the Excel template

Save the Excel file with the added/edited logs and click on the Upload template button

The system is running a validation check of the template. You can quickly see the legend letter in the first column what logs have been updated (U) or newly created (N).

Press Submit template and verify log is added to the correct valve.
