Managing valve data for hundreds of valves can make bulk updates challenging, especially if there are errors in the existing data or new data is received later. ValveTrack provides a powerful tool to update existing valve data efficiently. You can either watch the demo video or read the help article to see how the tool works.
You can also follow these steps.
2. Download the Excel template
The Excel template is downloaded to your Download folder
Excel template
The Excel template contains all the valves that are currently stored in ValveTrack for the current field:
All rows with a GUID exist in ValveTrack, and all attributes except the GUID can be changed. A change log will be maintained for all valve attributes.
3. Upload the Excel template
Once you have made the required changes to the valve metadata in the Excel template, save it and click on the upload template button.
Once the template is uploaded, the system will indicate how many valves were updated (indicated by *U) and how many were newly created (indicated by *N)
Data Validation
The system also enforces the predefined data validation rules. For example, if the ‘Nominal Input Torque’ exceeds the predefined ‘Damage Torque’ when updating metadata, an error message will be shown, indicated by *E
4. Press Submit template and check out the valve list:
