Storage FAQ

This article will discuss storage charges and explain when a carrier is entitled to receive payment for storage fees on OLAM loads.

When will the carrier receive payment for storage?

The carrier will only be paid for storage fees if the mark or container is actually loaded onto the chassis or container, and Olam has approved the payment.

What are some exceptions to storage fees?

There are a few exceptions to storage fees. As an example, carrier fees do not apply in Memphis, as the carrier can drop the chassis or containers off at AC Desoto. Additionally, if the carrier loads the container earlier than the Road & Terminal Load/Estimated Receiving Date (RTL/ERD) without permission from Olam or Candlestick Industries, then this is not a valid excuse and storage fees will not apply.

Will the reason for storage affect the fees?

Yes, the reason for the storage charges could affect the payment received. For instance, if the warehouse is taking too long to load up the container, or if the carrier had sufficient time to check in before the deadline but waited until the last day, the outcome of the storage fee payment decision could be different.

How much is the storage fee?

The storage fee is $50 per day.

Why were storage fees removed from my order?

If storage fees do not meet OLAM's requirements, or insufficient documentation is provided justifying the fees, they will be removed and the load will be paid without the storage fees.

How do I contact the team to provide additional justification for storage fees or dispute removal of the fees?

Contact the billing team by using the chat feature located in the bottom right corner of our website web.5f.app or in the support tab of our mobile app.
