How do I enable or disable decimal places for a product?
Step 1: Go to the Product Overview Page
From the dashboard, click on the Products section.
Select the Product Overview option. This will take you to the list of all products in your inventory.
Step 2: Choose the Product You Want to Edit
In the Product Overview page, find the product you want to adjust the will need to be a Bulk stock or non-stock, stock type.
Use the search bar to quickly locate a product.
Or scroll through the list and click on the product name to open its detailed settings.
Step 3: Locate the Decimal Quantity Setting
Once in the product details, look for a setting called Allow Decimal Quantities
You will see a toggle switch to enable or disable decimal quantities.
Step 4: Enable or Disable Decimal Quantities
To enable decimal quantities (useful for bulk or non-stock items):
Toggle the switch to ON. This will allow you to enter decimal values for the product quantity (e.g., 2.5, 3.75).
To disable decimal quantities (restrict to whole numbers only):
Toggle the switch to OFF. This will ensure you can only enter whole numbers for the product quantity (e.g., 1, 2, 3).
Step 5: Save Your Changes
After selecting the desired option (ON or OFF), click the Save button to apply the changes.
Adding to your stock levels
Step 1: Update Stock Quantity
Once you're in the product's item section, you'll see the current stock quantity listed.
If decimal quantities are enabled for the product (as per the setting you updated earlier), you can now enter a decimal value for the stock quantity when clicking into the stock level > stock transactions > add transaction.
For example:
If this is a new stock level, you can go into > add stock item and make the Opening Balance 1.5.
If decimal quantities are disabled for the product, you will be restricted to entering whole numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc.).
