Posting: My posts don’t get published

How to fix posting errors.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To publish a post, the platform requires active connection between Taplio and LinkedIn. Unfortunately, that can sometimes be interrupted.

Good news is you can easily refresh it by opening LinkedIn tab with Taplio extension installed on the same browser where you have Taplio open.

This should solve the problem and your posts should get published normally from now on unless there is something else causing the issue, in which case we would suggest to reach out to our support team via support button in the bottom right corner of the app.

Please note that refreshing your Taplio connection may impact how the Taplio X extension functions, which is key to features such as:

  • @mentioning people in posts

  • publishing posts that contain media

  • posting with a company page

  • getting up to date analytics

Just to be sure, it’s always a good practice to have a LinkedIn tab open with the extension installed on the same browser where you are working on Taplio.

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new feature designed to enhance your experience with our platform. Starting now, a dedicated section named "Errors" will be available within the "Post schedule" page.

The "Errors" section has been created to provide you with detailed insights into any posts that encounter difficulties during the publishing process. In this section, you will find all posts that have failed to publish, accompanied by specific error messages indicating the reasons for the failure.

This enhancement aims to facilitate a more transparent and informative experience for our users. By showcasing error messages directly on the "Errors" page, we hope to empower you with the information needed to understand why a post may not have successfully published.

Our team is committed to addressing and resolving any issues promptly. With the inclusion of the "Errors" section, we can efficiently investigate the root causes of failed publications and work towards implementing effective solutions.

One thing that can cause post failing is name of the file attached to your post.

Here’s a clear, practical guide for naming files before uploading them to Taplio so your posts publish successfully on LinkedIn.

File Naming Guide

To avoid publishing errors, file names must only contain:

  • Letters (A–Z, a–z)

  • Numbers (0–9)

  • Dashes (-)

Any other characters can cause the post to fail when Taplio sends it to LinkedIn.

✅ Allowed Characters

Use only:

  • Letters: a b c … z

  • Numbers: 0 1 2 … 9

  • Dashes: -

Example (valid):

❌ Characters NOT Supported

Avoid all of the following:

  • Spaces ()

  • Underscores (_)

  • Symbols (@ # $ % & * ! ?)

  • Emojis (🔥 🚀 ✅)

  • Accents or special letters (é ñ ü)

  • Parentheses or brackets (( ) [ ])

  • Periods except for the file extension

Examples (invalid):

✅ Best Practices (Recommended)

Follow these tips to stay safe every time:

1. Use lowercase letters only

This avoids edge-case compatibility issues.
