How to solve problems with your deposit

You've placed an order, selected a writer, and provided your card information, but the transaction didn't process as expected? No worries!

Understanding the reason behind a declined deposit is crucial to finding the best and fastest solution. Each declined deposit is accompanied by a reason for the decline. This can help you pinpoint what went wrong and what would be the best and fastest way to move forward. You can see your entire transaction history by going to the Balance tab. Look for the hint located next to each cancellation. Here are the most common ones:

  • Transaction canceled means that the deposit wasn’t completed or you canceled the transaction at some point in the process.

  • Do not honor or Suspected fraud requires you to check with your bank for security purposes.

  • Authentication failed, or 3DS authentication failed, means that you need to retry the deposit, ensuring you don't miss the authorization step by receiving a code or an online approval form via your bank.

Depending on the reason for the decline, finding a resolution might involve contacting your bank, updating payment information, or addressing any outstanding issues.

  • Start by refreshing the page and attempting the transaction with either the same card or a different one. Often, a simple refresh will allow your payment to go through.

  • If that doesn't work, try logging in using a different web browser or device.

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies. For Windows, press Shift+Ctrl+R; for MacOS, press Shift+Command+R.

  • If the problem persists after trying the above steps, contacting your bank is a good idea. They can check for any potential issues on their end.
