How to create the Acenda App in your shopify store and generate API keys.

Phase 1: Create the Acenda Custom App in Shopify

Step 1: Open Shopify App Development

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.

  2. In the left sidebar, click Settings (gear icon).

  3. Go to Apps and sales channels.

  4. Click Develop apps (top right).

  5. Click Build apps in Dev Dashboard.

Note: If this is your first custom app, Shopify may prompt you to Allow custom app development. Confirm to continue.

Step 2: Create the App

  1. In the Dev Dashboard, click Create app.

  2. Enter an app name (Recommended: Acenda).

  3. Click Create. You are now inside the app workspace.

Step 3: Configure API Scopes (Permissions)

  1. In the left-hand menu, open Access settings (or Configuration).

  2. Locate the Scopes field.

  3. Copy and paste the full list below directly into the field:

read_all_orders, read_assigned_fulfillment_orders, write_assigned_fulfillment_orders, read_channels, write_channels, read_custom_fulfillment_services, write_custom_fulfillment_services, read_customers, write_draft_orders, read_draft_orders, read_fulfillment_constraint_rules, write_fulfillment_constraint_rules, read_fulfillments, write_fulfillments, write_inventory, read_inventory, write_locations, read_locations, read_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders, write_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders, read_metaobject_definitions, write_metaobject_definitions, read_metaobjects, write_metaobjects, write_order_edits, read_order_edits, read_orders, write_orders, read_product_feeds, write_product_feeds, read_product_listings, write_product_listings, read_products, write_products, write_reports, read_reports, read_returns, write_returns, read_third_party_fulfillment_orders, write_third_party_fulfillment_orders

  1. Scroll to the bottom and click Release.

  2. A confirmation modal will appear; click Release again.

Note: You may optionally provide a version name (e.g., "Initial Acenda Sync"), but this is not required.


Phase 2: Install the App on Your Store

Step 4: Install the App

  1. In the Dev Dashboard sidebar, click Home under your Acenda app.

  2. Click Install app.

  3. If you manage multiple Shopify stores, select the correct store from the list.

  4. Review the permissions screen and click the black Install button.


Phase 3: Connect Shopify to Acenda

Step 5: Find Your Shopify Store Name (Handle)

  1. Return to your main Shopify Admin.

  2. Go to Settings > Domains.

  3. Locate the domain ending in .myshopify.com.

  4. Copy only the text appearing before .myshopify.com.

    • Example: If your domain is my-fashion-store.myshopify.com, copy: my-fashion-store

  5. Paste this value into the Shopify Store Name field in your Acenda admin.

Step 6: Copy Your API Credentials

  1. Return to the Shopify Dev Dashboard and select your Acenda app.

  2. Click Settings in the sidebar.

  3. Locate the Client ID and Secret.

  4. Click the orange copy icons (orange outline) next to each value.

  5. Paste the credentials into Acenda as follows:

    • Client ID → Acenda Client ID field

    • Secret → Acenda Client Secret field

  6. Click Save in Acenda.
