Following these guidelines ensures a fair, secure, and consistent testing experience for all applicants. It covers test conduct, the testing environment, device and account integrity, and how potential violations are handled.
What is expected during your test
You must:
Complete the test independently, without any assistance
Remain fully visible in your camera frame at all times
Use only one device or one monitor
Ensure your workspace is clear of unauthorised materials or devices
Follow all instructions provided before and during the Casper test
Look directly at the camera during video responses when submitting your answers.
Prohibited behaviours
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited and will result in a review and red flag as outlined in our Terms of Use.
Technology & devices
Using more than one monitor or screen
Using a mobile phone at any time during the test
Accessing or using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar tools)
Using speech-to-text or text-to-speech software unless explicitly approved
Using external keyboards, tablets, smartwatches, or other devices
Running unauthorised applications, browsers, or background programs
Attempting to record, screenshot, or copy Casper test content
Assistance & test conditions
Receiving help from another person (in person or remotely)
Communicating with others during the test (verbally, messaging, or otherwise)
Having another person present in the room, on or off camera
Reading from scripts or pre-prepared responses
Using unauthorised accommodations or aids
Environment & behaviour
Leaving your seat or moving out of camera view during the test. Applicants do not need to be on camera during scheduled breaks
Covering or obstructing the camera
Having mobile phones or other devices visible on your desk or close by to your person
Engaging in disruptive, inappropriate, or abusive communication with staff
Account & identity integrity
Providing false or misleading identification
Allowing another individual to take the test on your behalf
Creating multiple accounts to gain additional attempts
Attempting to retake the same test type within the same cycle (if prohibited)
Additional behaviours that may trigger a review
The following behaviours may result in your test being flagged for investigation and your footage reviewed:
Suspicious eye & body movement
Appearing to read from a script (e.g., repeated downward or sideward eye movements)
Frequently looking off-screen or away from your monitor
Continuous head turning or shifting focus between multiple points
Indicators of use of unauthorised assistance
Repeated glancing in one direction, suggesting another screen or person
Pauses followed by unusually polished responses
Talking or reacting to someone off camera
Evidence of earpieces or listening devices
Device misuse
Any indication that a phone has been used (regardless of purpose)
Reflections showing additional screens or devices
Sounds or notifications suggesting alternative active device use
Testing behaviour irregularities
Typing patterns inconsistent with normal human input (e.g., sudden speed changes)
Copy-paste behaviour
Unusual response timing (e.g.,fast completion across all sections)
Environment concerns
Changes in lighting or camera angle suggesting movement or interference
Someone entering or exiting the room during the test
Background noise suggesting conversation or coaching
What happens if a test violation is identified
Breaches of a test rule may result in the following actions, as stipulated in Section 11.0 Monitoring; Breach; Reporting of Breach of our Terms of Use.
A test violation (red flag) may be placed on your record
This information may be shared with programs on your distribution list
Your test score may be cancelled or withheld
You may be restricted from future testing
