How to grant access to your microphone for Acuity Insights Assessments

Updated over a week ago

Access to your webcam and microphone during your Casper test is mandatory for identity assertion and proctoring purposes. It is also required when completing Snapshot.

The System Requirements Check found within your Acuity Insights account includes a Microphone Test to check that your microphone is working. If prompted with a pop-up in your chosen browser, always “allow” for both the microphone and webcam to be accessed while completing Casper and Snapshot.

If you haven’t been prompted, or are unsure if your microphone or webcam have been granted access for Casper and Snapshot, please follow the steps here to ensure they are enabled.

If your webcam is functioning properly during your test, it is usually safe to assume that your microphone is working as well. Our team will reach out to you if we notice any webcam or microphone issues during your test to give you an opportunity to resolve them.

Please note: Chrome and Firefox are the only browsers that support Acuity Insights Assessments and AcuityInsights.app. If needed, you can download the latest versions of these browsers HERE. All other browsers (e.g. Safari, Explorer, Edge, etc.), as well as Smartphones and Tablets do not support the Acuity Insights website.
