The Inspections Portal brings all your inventory workflows and reconditioning services together to prepare a vehicle for sale. Auctions and customers can see the status of vehicles, make changes, and communicate throughout the entire inspection and reconditioning process.

Remember: Successfully taking a vehicle from receiving to sale involves teamwork. Each person is responsible for a different step in the process. Tags in the Inspections Portal help auctions keep track of who does what. See the “Inspections Portal Tag Cheat Sheet” in the Help Center for details on what each tag means, who sets it, and why.

After an auction receives a vehicle, checks in a vehicle, and performs the CR, the vehicle can begin its journey through the seven work queues. (For detailed descriptions of each queue, see the document “Inspections Portal Work Queues” in the Help Center.)

The Inspections Portal workflow process can be broken down into three general steps. Each process consists of a set number of phases that moves a vehicle through the seven work queues to become sale ready.

1. Prepare the estimate.

Preparing the estimate involves shopping the vehicle, conducting a mechanical inspection when needed, obtaining part prices, and sending the estimate to the customer.

All these tasks can be performed using different methods, and which method you use affects the rest of the process. In this document, we assume that you’re using the Inspections Portal.

For details on each of these processes, see the following documents in the Help Center:

2. Acquire customer approval.

For details on this process, see the Acquire Customer Approval article in the Help Center.

3. Order parts and complete repairs.

For details on each of these processes, see the following documents in the Help Center:
