In this article you will find the errors we detect in incorrect designs and the solutions we propose for the most widespread and common cases.
Look for your error in this list (you can find the error of your order in "My orders", in your account) and check the solutions we recommend.
Incorrect design
Incorrect design
In this case the details wil be clarified on the email you received, as well as in the order tracking status on the Dealer Portal.
Below you will find a series of common problems that we have grouped together in this section and the solutions we propose:
The font size is too small and will not be readable in the final artwork.
El tamaño mínimo que exigimos para los diseños es de 22 píxeles. Sin embargo, te recomendamos que sea como mínimo de 32 píxeles.
Printer's tip:
We recommend that you take into account in which situations and at what distance the graphic is going to be exposed. The greater the distance, the larger the font size should be.
The font is complex and not readable
Choose regular or higher style, sans serif, thick stroke fonts and create outlines.
Printer's Tip:
Create outlines in the font
Add colour to the stroke
Raise the thickness of the stroke, increasing the thickness of the typeface while respecting the "nature" of the typeface.
The contrast of text and background is too low and the text is not readable.
The contrast of text and background is too low and the text is not readable. Choose dark coloured text on light backgrounds or colours that complement each other.
Printer's tip:
Use the colour palette of your design and play with the colours until you find a combination that increases the legibility of the text.
If you don't have a colour palette, here is a tutorial on how to create colour palettes from images.
The design contains transparencies that will not be visible in the final result.
Check all elements of your design and make sure they have no transparency and 100% opacity.
The design contains markings that do not correspond or are not in place.
Check that your design does not contain any marks or lines that do not correspond to the final artwork. Sometimes there may be marks within the final artwork that can affect the final printed result.
To check for these, in your editor, go to the layers and go through the strokes and elements for each layer.
Printer's tip:
Remove the text around the template, so that only the template you are working with remains on your desk.
This avoids possible printing errors.
The colour profile is incorrect.
To respect the colour you want in your prints, we work with the CMYK colour profile. You can check and modify the colour mode you are using with Illustrator here.
The design contains thin strokes that will not be visible.
The minimum thickness of the strokes must be 0.5 pt to be visible in print.
The file contains a password and we cannot open it.
Remove the password from the file and upload it to the portal.
The design is not sized
The design is not sized
When we mark that the design is not sized it can be for the following reasons:
The design does not have the dimensions of the template.
Do not modify the template: Do not resize or change the orientation of the template. Once downloaded, we advise you not to change its dimensions to work on it. If you have modified the dimensions of the template, download the original template again and incorporate the design into it without altering its dimensions.
In the following article we show you where you can download the templates of your design:
The design has a white margin that will be visible in the final result.
To solve this error, we remind you that the template has two lines: The yellow bleed margin line and the red safety area line.
You must extend the background of your design to the yellow line.
Complex Design
Complex Design
We consider your design to be complex in one of the following situations:
Design contains many nodes, anchor points or layers
When your vector design contains many nodes we recommend you to rasterise it.
File is corrupt and cannot be opened
Export the file in another format or another encoding.
The formats added are: PDF, AI, PSD, EPS, JPG, JPEG. In this link you have an explanation of how to export illustrations in Illustrator.
Printer's tip:
We recommend uploading your file in EPS or PDF format. You can find information on how to export to PDF from Illustrator at this link.
If you cannot open your file, we recommend that you restore previous versions of the file.
The design has no template
The design has no template
It is necessary that the designs are made on our templates. Templates can be downloaded from various locations, depending on whether the measurements are standard or customised:
Pixelated design
Pixelated design
It may happen that the image you have submitted in the design appears pixelated. The images that appear in the design do not have the necessary resolution to ensure that the print on the textile surface is sufficiently sharp for a good finish.
This is especially the case for banners and flags with a large surface when the design is made with .jpg files. For this reason, we recommend using vector images (in .ai, .eps format).
To solve this, increase the resolution of the image you want to incorporate in the template design. Note that we can get good results with a resolution of 150 dpi.
This link takes you to a tutorial on how to set the dpi in Illustrator.
Missing images
Missing images
The images of the design have not been attached correctly.
Another solution can be to export your design as a PDF file or as a JPEG file.
PDF individual
PDF individual
We need you to upload a single file for each design you want to attach. We do not accept multipage files.
This Illustrator help page shows you how to export PDFs in multiple files.
Margen interior
Margen interior
When we indicate that the design is incorrect on the inside margin, it is because the design steps on the safety lines and will be cut off.
Follow the instructions on the template to incorporate the design. The red line represents the boundary within which the design must lie, as this is where the stitching passes. The background of the design should extend to the yellow line.
Less weight
Less weight
The maximum weight we allow is around 50 MB.
In this link you can check different ways to reduce the weight of the file.
Please note that the display of the colours of your design on screen may differ from the digital print and that on monitors the colours are displayed in RGB, so there may be differences in the digital colour and the printed result.
Attention!
The proposed solutions are generalised and indicative. We recommend that you contact us if you do not find a solution that suits your problem.
