Learn how to add a snippet to your patient treatment notes

Updated over 6 months ago

This article will talk you through how to add a snippet to your treatment notes.

Snippets are pre-made note templates which can be used to make writing notes quicker. Instead of writing the same regular notes for each appointment - such as 'risks and benefits discussed' you can simply click a button and then the note will appear.

To learn how to add a snippet to your treatment notes, watch our short video below. Alternatively, follow our simple steps.

Step 1 :

To add a snippet to your treatment notes for your patient, an appointment will need to be booked in the diary first. Once an appointmentis booked you will need to click on this appointment in the diary to bring up the appoinment summary and then choosing to view the patient record.

Step 2 :

Then when in the patient record, you will need to click on the appointment you wish to add the snippet to.

Step 3 :

Once in the appointment, head to the treatment details hexagon.

Step 4 :

You will then find the main comments box and to the side the snippet option.

Step 5 :

When you select the snippet option, your drop down on snippets will appear where you can select the snippet to use for this appointment.

Step 6 :

Once the snippet is added to the comments box you can then tailor the snippet by adding or removing any additional information needed. Your snippets are not set in stone and can be customised to suit each patients appointment.

Step 7 :

When the comment with the snippet has been saved you will see a date, time and practitioner stamp on the note. This will seal the note meaning it cannot be edited. If there is further information you would like to add to the note, you are able to add another note nad save this again creating an audit trail of the notes again.
