Laboratory Urine Drug & Alcohol Screen – Diluted Samples
We have received feedback indicating an increase in Laboratory Urine Drug & Alcohol Screen (LAB DAS) samples being rejected by the laboratory due to dilution.
To help address this and maintain high clinical standards, please ensure the following when collecting and assessing samples:
When a LAB DAS is booked, the Urine Check 7 Drug Adulteration Test Strip must be used to assess for adulteration — including creatinine levels.
Please ensure the creatinine concentration is at or above 200 mg/L (20 mg/dL) before sending the sample to the laboratory.
If the creatinine level falls below this threshold, the sample should be considered dilute, and a recollection is required.
Your attention to this ensures compliance with testing protocols and reduces avoidable rejections, delays, and follow-up requests. We appreciate your attention to this matter and your ongoing commitment to quality.
Medical Assessment Conduct
We would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm KINNECT’s expectations regarding the conduct of medical assessments performed across our network. A recent incident has highlighted the need to clarify our position on how examinations are performed on behalf of KINNECT.
We would like to confirm that it is not appropriate for our KINNECT applicants to be asked to undress at any point during their medical assessment, including in the context of legislative medical assessments or skin checks being conducted. This practice does not align with our standards, and we respectfully request that it be ceased immediately across all assessments conducted on behalf of KINNECT.
Should KINNECT become aware that this practice continues, we will promptly engage with the relevant clinic to ensure alignment with expected standards.
We value your partnership and your commitment to delivering high-quality care that upholds the dignity, comfort, and wellbeing of all applicants. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, our Affiliates Team is readily available to assist.
Thank You for Your Partnership in 2025
We would like to extend our sincere thanks for your support and partnership throughout 2025. Your dedication, professionalism, and collaboration make a meaningful difference in delivering high-quality services to our clients and applicants. With only a few weeks left until our 2025 closure, we are very proud of the number of medical assessments KINNECT has facilitated throughout the year, and we know this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and support of you all.
Thank you for the important role you play in helping keep people at work healthy, safe, and productive. We wish you all a joyful holiday season, and we look forward to continuing our work together in 2026!
