Start Generating Test Cases Using AI Test Case Generator for Azure DevOps

Once your project is set up and permissions are in place, you’re ready to start generating test cases directly from your user stories in Azure DevOps — all in just a few clicks.

Updated this week

Here’s how to generate test cases:

  1. Go to the Boards page (or access the story via Work Items)

  2. Open the User Story where you’d like to create test cases

  3. (Optional) Review or adjust your Project Settings

  4. Click ‘Generate Test Cases’

You’ll see a confirmation pop-up when generation is complete. Each test case is automatically linked to the user story, with a timestamp in the lower-right corner of the card.

What’s included in each test case?

  • Title

  • Steps, Actions, Expected Results (Steps tab)

  • Description, Pre-Conditions, Priority (Summary tab)

Want to scale this up? You can also generate test cases in bulk across multiple stories.
