The New Akada Studio App

How to use the improved Akada Studio App for attendance

Updated yesterday

We are replacing the Akada Express app. We are launching an entirely new app that, in time, will provide you all of the features found in the browser based studio interface.

We are initially launching this in a mobile web format. Soon, the mobile app will be available in the Google and Apple stores. We will let everyone know when that happens.

The Akada Studio app currently allows your teachers to take attendance from their phones, but we are already working on additional features. They can access it from here: https://studio.akadadance.com/. We recommend they bookmark it in their phone's web browser.

If your teachers have been using the Akada Express app, they can log in using their email address and password. If they haven't used the Akada Express app in the past, follow the instructions below.

Logging In:

  • First, you must grant the user access.

    • Log in to Akada and go to Settings.

    • Choose Users.

    • Click Edit next to the User.

    • Click "Has Access" next to the Akada Express label.

  • Log in with the User's full email address and Akada Password.

Note: To enter attendance, users need access to the app, the class list, and the "enter attendance" box checked in their user settings.

Entering Attendance:

  • Log in using your full email and password.

  • Choose the Class Date and, if needed, use the Filter option to select the appropriate session.

  • Select the Class and click the arrow in the upper right corner.

  • You will see the enrolled students. Under each student, you can mark them Present or use the + to select a different attendance status.

  • If all students are Present, use the Select All option, and check the box.

  • Use the X in the upper right corner, and attendance is recorded for the class.

But let's look closer at Anita Patterson before we enter her attendance status. Below are the attendance options you can select for a student by clicking the + under their name.

By selecting the arrow to the right of her name, I can see her details and other information, including notes, and review her attendance history.

Select an attendance option to enter attendance, and then you can enter any attendance notes if needed. At the moment, you can only enter Attendance Notes. You can review any existing Medical, Allergy, and General Notes.

Once I have completed entering her attendance status and any attendance notes, use the X in the upper right corner to indicate that her attendance has been recorded.

You will see the label "Attendance Incomplete" under each of your classes until all students' attendance has been selected and recorded properly.
