Welcome to Akada Studio. This app allows your teachers and staff to conveniently take attendance from their mobile devices. We will continue adding new features, like messaging, over the following months and years.
The Akada Studio home screen is shown in desktop mode.
Where to find it?
You can download the app by searching "Akada Studio" in the Apple or Google Play stores. It is also available for your desktop or mobile browser. Whatever format you choose to use, you should expect the same experience.
How do I give my staff access? And what are Roles and Permissions?
Roles and permissions are a new feature for the studio app. The idea is that you can create predefined roles for different staff positions (admin, teacher, office staff, etc.) with specific access to the app. As more functions are added to the app, these roles will become more important.
Roles and Permissions screens are shown in the mobile app.
If you are an Admin user, log in to Akada Studio using your normal email address and password.
Click on the hamburger menu, then select Roles and Permissions.
Under General User, click the Manage Role button.
Click the toggle in the Role Permissions menu to turn on Attendance Access.
Review the additional options and check the box to give your general users access to that feature.
At the top, click the View/Add users button and add any users you wish to have access.
How do I Enter Attendance?
Click on the class for which you want to enter attendance.
You may change the date by clicking on the purple calendar icon.
The filter button on the top right allows you to change the session and filter the list between classes assigned to you or all classes.
Once you've selected the class, click the appropriate button to enter each student's attendance, or you can click the Select All box to set the status for everyone.
Click the + button for additional attendance statuses.
When finished, click the X at the top to return to the class list.
Additional Attendance Options:
Clicking on a student's name will provide a graph of their attendance history (picture above on the left), the option to view their detailed attendance history, and all the notes associated with that student.
You also have the option to set up alerts for students who've missed multiple classes and set some controls for your class lists.
To access this screen (above right), click the gear icon on the top right of the Attendance screen.
