Moving Data from DanceWorks to Akada
Updated over a week ago

If you have been using the desktop version of DanceWorks and are switching to Akada, we can upload one of the sessions from the desktop program for you. This prevents you from having to do all of the data entry again and allows you to keep all of your financial history intact.

When you sign-up for Akada, you will receive a welcome email. To send us your data, reply to that email with the backup file attached. Below are the steps for backing up your file in Danceworks.

To Create a Back-up File in DanceWorks (desktop):

  • Log into the DanceWorks session that you want to back up.

  • Click on the File menu in the top left corner.

  • Click on Backup Data from the file menu.

Backup1

  • Use the button to Change the Drive and choose the location to save the back-up file.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Check the box to select the correct file to be backed up.

backup2

  • Click the Next button.

  • Click the Backup button.

backup3

  • You will now have a file saved in your chosen location named Dbase00.zip (the number will correspond with the session number that you backed up).

Now that you have created a backup of your file. Reply to the DanceWorks Welcome email that you received when signing up and attach the dbase00.zip file. Once we receive it, we will begin getting your information uploaded. Once the data has been uploaded, you will receive an automated email letting you know that your data is ready.
