How To Target Popups Based on Klaviyo Segments

Targeting your popups to the right audience is crucial for effective marketing. With Alia's powerful integration with Klaviyo, you can leverage your existing customer segments to display highly relevant popups, enhancing user experience and driving conversions. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to set up Klaviyo segment-based targeting for your Alia popups.

Ensure Your Klaviyo Segment is Ready

Before you can target an Alia popup to a Klaviyo segment, that segment must first exist and be properly defined within your Klaviyo account. If you haven't already, take a moment to create or review the segment you intend to use.

  • A Klaviyo segment is a dynamic group of profiles that meet certain criteria (e.g., "Subscribed to newsletter," "Made a purchase in the last 30 days," "Viewed product X").

  • Ensure the segment is active and contains the profiles you wish to target.

Locate Your Alia Popup Campaign

Once your Klaviyo segment is ready, the next step is to navigate to the specific Alia popup campaign you wish to target. This is where you'll configure the conditions for when your popup appears.

  1. Log in to your Alia Dashboard.

  2. From the main menu, go to "Campaigns".

  3. Find the popup campaign you want to modify in your list of campaigns.

  4. Click on the "Edit targeting" button on the top corner of the campaign name.


Add a New Klaviyo Segment Targeting Condition

In the "Targeting" section of your popup campaign, you'll add a new condition that specifically checks if the current visitor belongs to your chosen Klaviyo segment.

  1. In the Targeting tab, click on the "Add condition" button.

  2. A dropdown menu will appear with various targeting options. Scroll down and select "in Klaviyo segment".

  3. After selecting "in Klaviyo segment," another dropdown will appear, populated with all the segments from your connected Klaviyo account.

  4. From this dropdown, carefully select the exact Klaviyo segment you wish to target. This is the segment you prepared in Step 1.

Publish Your Targeted Campaign

After you've set up the Klaviyo segment targeting condition, the final step is to save your changes and publish the campaign. Your popup will then go live, showing only to the specific audience you've defined.

  1. Review all your targeting conditions to ensure they are set up exactly as intended.

  2. Click the "Save" button to apply your changes to the campaign.

  3. If the campaign is not already live, or if you made changes to a live campaign, ensure you click "Publish".

Congratulations! Your Alia popup is now configured to target only a specific segment from your Klaviyo audience. This allows for highly personalized messaging, leading to better engagement and increased conversion rates for your marketing efforts.
