This happens in addition to the data Alia passes to your email or SMS platform. Answers are sent to Shopify as customer tags and to your marketing integration as subscriber properties at the same time. These are two separate destinations, not alternatives to each other.

This can be useful for distinguishing which popup a customer signed up through, for example when running a test and needing to tell one variant's signups apart from another's.

Shopify customer tagging is controlled by the Tag customers setting in your Shopify integration.

Disabling Tag customers removes all tags that Alia sends to Shopify moving forward. This includes tags generated from Mini Quiz and survey responses.

There is no way to selectively keep some Alia tags while removing others through this setting. It applies to everything Alia tags, or nothing.

If you want to keep specific tags and remove others, manage those tags directly in Shopify.

Alia cannot write quiz answers or other popup data to Shopify Customer Metafields. Metafields are not currently supported.
