Adding a job title to someone's profile

A job title is set on the employee's profile in People. It feeds the org chart and grants no access. Job title, role and permission are three different things.

A job title is set on the employee's profile in People. It is a label, and it grants nothing. 💼

Where it is set

Open the person in People and set their job title on their profile.

It feeds the org chart

The job title is what appears under somebody's name in the org chart. Keeping it accurate is what makes the chart worth looking at.

Job title, role and permission are three different things

This trips people up constantly, so it is worth being exact:

  • A job title describes the person. It gives no access

  • A role under Directory is a tag used for filtering and for targeting content. It also gives no access

  • Permissions are what actually decide what somebody can do

Giving somebody the job title "Manager" does not make them a manager in All Gravy.

💬 If somebody cannot do something they should be able to, the job title is never the cause. Check their permissions. 🙏
