How to Set Up Automated Responses

Respond to homeowners right away by setting up automated messages.

Send an automated message to a homeowner as soon as they submit their first lead to your company. By default, this feature is turned off, but it is very easy to turn on.


In the Angi for Pros app:

  1. Sign in to the Angi for Pros app.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap Messages.

  3. At the top of the screen, tap Automations. On this screen, you can turn on a pre-built template or customize your own message to initiate conversations with new leads.

  4. Don’t have enough time to customize? Get started with one of our pre-built templates. Tap the drop-down to select one that works for you.

  5. If you prefer, choose Write your own to create your own custom template and craft a personalized message for homeowners from your company. Note: Only one custom template can exist at a time. If you want to adjust your custom message then you’ll need to select the Write your own option again to replace your current custom message with a new one.

  6. Once you have selected the template you would like to send automatically when you receive a lead from a consumer, tap Save.

  7. To turn on your automated message, tap the toggle on at the bottom of the screen. When it is on, the toggle will be blue and a small pop-up will appear, confirming your selection.

  8. To turn off your automated message, follow the same steps above and turn the toggle off. When automated messages are off, the toggle will be gray.


In a web browser:

  1. Click on the Messages tab.

  2. Click on the Automations tab within your inbox.

  3. You can choose between three prewritten templates by clicking on Change your template. If you would like to create a custom automated message template, choose the Write your own option.

  4. Once you have selected the template you would like to send automatically when you receive a lead from a consumer, click Save. Only one custom template can exist at a time. If you want to adjust your custom message then you’ll need to select the Write your own option again to replace your current custom message with a new one.

  5. To turn on your automated message, make sure to click the blue Turn on automation button.

  6. To turn off your automated message, follow the same steps above and turn the toggle off to gray.
